Lucia is a waitress working in a small cafe in Madrid. The book she read by the young writer Lorenzo Alvarez so deeply sinks into the young woman’s soul, in fact, that she falls in love with the Creator in absentia and, having tracked down the thing of her own adoration, confesses to him in love. Lonely Lorenzo readily lets Lucia into his own life, but their happiness is not destined to last forever: after a certain number of years, the fiction writer gets hit by a car, after which the grief-stricken Lucia leaves the metropolis in order to try to find herself on a distant Peninsula in the Mediterranean, where her beloved always dreamed of returning.
